Danielle Calodney is an award-winning commercial and music video director. Though she’s been a Brooklyn resident for nearly 10 years, Danielle first cut her teeth as a filmmaker in her home state of Texas while studying film at UT Austin. Known for her deeply empathetic films that merge magic and reality, she has carved out a niche in the short-form category.
With a background in cinematography and editing, Danielle brings a holistic sense of the filmmaking process into her directing and creative direction, resulting in layered and boundary-pushing work. She has directed campaigns for brands like American Airlines, Levi’s, MoMA, and Philips that have screened globally and garnered many industry awards, including a handful of Tellys. Her music video work includes projects for Seratones, Khruangbin, The Downtown Boys, and Durand Jones & The Indications that have garnered millions of YouTube views.
Danielle’s boundless energy and positive vibes create sets where talent, client, and crew feel excited, welcome, and like they can create at their highest level. Her work features diverse faces and heroic stories that bring art direction and scripting into documentary, as she finds the power of imagination the best place to start a story.
